We also made a stop back at our vehicle about an hour before leaving. After that is starts to fill up and soon it is road parking or doing laps waiting for a spot. Get there by 8am and you should be good for a free spot in the lot. There is minimal parking for the amount of people who actually go to Secret Cove. Farther along south from Secret Cove are a couple more nude beaches. People at the beach are very friendly and keep the beach very clean. There are also large sunning boulders in the water where you can walk out to and climb onto. The sand is fine and people tend to find spots on the sand between the boulders. It is a natural cove lined by large boulders. The walk from the parking lot to the beach is maybe 10 minutes. At the turn off to Secret cove, there are toilets. There are signs on the trail to indicate when to turn to head down towards the water. After parking in the lot, you take the well marked trail/fire road south. The parking lot near chimney beach is your best bet if there are spaces available. Parking is at times difficult to find since most of highway 28 is a no parking zone. Access to the beach requires some walking but is not difficult. The beach is popular with a mix of people including families, couples, singles alike. Secret Cove Beach is a beautiful popular nude beach on Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side of the lake. Still want to find Secret Cove but this was a great mistake to stumble upon. Was a great afternoon(arrived at 1:30-2p and left around 4p). Really loved the Secret Harbor though so def worth it. Tried to research all the best ways to get to the cove beforehand and still didn’t succeed. Hopefully it’s not this difficult on weekends other than 4th of July but we were stuck going this weekend. Secret cove might have been easier to reach since this was a bit further south but we couldn’t find parking or a specific trail without backtracking on the highway to start the trek at the one parking lot near Secret Cove (Secret Harbor beach parking). Not sure how some people made it down and up with all the gear they brought. Took 15 min from beach to car on edge of highway but interval training at its best as it is straight up and requires a little portion on all fours. Able to listen to music for our group of three and not have it bleed over into the next group over. Lots of folks with portable tents, picnics and several boats anchored on shore, jet ski’s and paddle boards in tow. Also a nice decently long stretch of sand to lay out a towel and warm up in. Blue green crystal clear chilly refreshing water with lots of boulders to climb, explore and sunbathe. Arrived at the beach and discovered we were actually at Secret Harbor Beach not Secret Cove but it was still incredible. Had to slide/scramble down the sandy cliff edge to connect with a lightly treaded trail leading straight down to the water. Lots of cars either side, some with and without tickets. We took a chance, crossed our fingers and got lucky. Saw lots of other cars with parking tickets and was really hard to know which chunks of the road were ok to park and which weren’t. Drove up and down this steep cliffside highway looking for an opening to parallel park(adrenaline rush due to height) and after 20 min of searching, snuck into a spot. Parking is a real challenge but place is gorgeous! Went 5th of July, 2020 (amidst pandemic time) and the secret harbor parking lot was full as were all the side of the highway spots.
